Petit.iot Limited Warranty Terms and Conditions

These Limited Warranty Terms and Conditions (the “Warranty Terms”) govern the warranty provided by Petit.iot (“Petit.iot”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) for Petit.iot branded Internet of Things (IoT) products (the “Products”). By purchasing, installing, or using any Product, the customer (“Customer”, “you”, or “your”) agrees to be bound by these Warranty Terms.

1. Definitions

1.1 “Product(s)” means Petit.iot branded IoT hardware devices, including but not limited to sensors, gateways, controllers, and related hardware accessories supplied by Petit.iot or its authorized partners.

1.2 “Customer” means the original purchaser of the Product from Petit.iot or an authorized reseller or distributor.

1.3 “Purchase Date” means the date stated on the valid proof of purchase (e.g. invoice or receipt) issued to the Customer.

1.4 “Warranty Period” means the period of twelve (12) months from the Purchase Date, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Petit.iot.

1.5 “Authorized Service Provider” means a service provider approved in writing by Petit.iot to perform installation, repair or maintenance services on the Products.

2. Warranty Coverage

2.1 Petit.iot warrants that, during the Warranty Period and under normal use and operating conditions, the Product will be free from defects in material and workmanship (“Defect”).

2.2 This warranty applies to Petit.iot Products that operate on AC power and/or DC power, including Products that incorporate communication interfaces such as NB‑IoT, LoRa, LoRaWAN, Wi‑Fi, 4G, 5G and other supported technologies as specified in the relevant Product documentation.

2.3 During the Warranty Period, and subject to these Warranty Terms, Petit.iot will, at its sole discretion, repair the defective Product, replace it with a new or refurbished Product of the same or equivalent model, or issue a credit note not exceeding the original purchase price of the Product.

2.4 Any repaired or replaced Product or component will be warranted for the remainder of the original Warranty Period or ninety (90) days from the date of repair or replacement, whichever is longer.

3. Consumables and Items Not Covered by Warranty

3.1 Batteries are considered consumable items and ARE NOT covered under this warranty, whether they are internal, external, rechargeable, or non-rechargeable. Battery performance and lifespan depend on usage conditions and are not guaranteed by Petit.iot.

3.2 All communication SIM cards, eSIM profiles, data plans, and related telecommunication subscriptions or services are NOT covered under this warranty. Petit.iot is not responsible for network availability, coverage, signal strength, data throughput, roaming, or any charges related to such services.

3.3 Tools, software utilities, configuration cables, and any third-party accessories or equipment (including but not limited to routers, switches, servers, and cloud platforms not supplied by Petit.iot) are NOT covered by this warranty.

3.4 Consumable or wear‑and‑tear parts such as fuses, connectors, plugs, and cosmetic components (e.g. labels, paint, surface finish) are excluded from warranty unless the Defect is proven to be due to a manufacturing fault.

4. Warranty Exclusions and Limitations

6. Warranty Service Process

6.1 The Customer must contact Petit.iot or its Authorized Service Provider within the Warranty Period to register a warranty claim and obtain return instructions or a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number, where applicable.

6.2 Upon receipt of the Product, Petit.iot will inspect and test the Product to determine whether the claim is covered under this warranty. Petit.iot’s determination is final and binding.

6.3 If the claim is accepted, Petit.iot will, at its sole discretion, repair the Product, replace it with a new or refurbished Product of equal or superior functionality, or issue a credit note not exceeding the original purchase price of the Product.

6.4 If the Product is found to be outside the scope of this warranty, Petit.iot may, at the Customer’s request, offer a paid repair or replacement service where available. In such cases, all costs (including inspection, transportation, parts and labor) will be borne by the Customer.

6.5 Any Product or component replaced under this warranty becomes the property of Petit.iot and will not be returned to the Customer.

7. Costs Not Covered by Warranty

7.1 This warranty does not cover any costs of installation, removal, de‑installation, site visits, or on‑site troubleshooting, unless expressly agreed in writing by Petit.iot.

7.2 Transportation, insurance, customs duties, taxes, and any other charges related to shipping the Product to and from Petit.iot or an Authorized Service Provider are not covered by this warranty, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

7.3 This warranty does not cover any indirect costs, including but not limited to network subscriptions, data plans, cloud platform fees, loss of business, loss of profits, or any other consequential costs incurred by the Customer.

8. Software, Firmware and Configuration

8.1 Any software or firmware provided by Petit.iot for use with the Products is licensed, not sold, and is subject to the applicable license terms. Such software or firmware is provided “as is” unless otherwise stated in a separate written agreement.

8.2 Changes to configuration, integrations with third‑party systems, or custom software developments are outside the scope of this warranty, unless explicitly covered in a separate written contract.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

9.1 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY GIVEN BY PETIT.IOT WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCTS AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, TITLE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT.

9.2 No oral or written information or advice given by Petit.iot, its dealers, distributors, agents, or employees shall create any additional warranty or in any way increase the scope of this limited warranty.

10. Limitation of Liability

10.1 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PETIT.IOT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF BUSINESS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT, EVEN IF PETIT.IOT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

10.2 IN ANY EVENT, PETIT.IOT’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO ANY PRODUCT, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE ACTUALLY PAID BY THE CUSTOMER FOR THAT PRODUCT.

10.3 Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. In such cases, this limitation shall apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

11. Transferability of Warranty

11.1 Unless otherwise agreed in writing by Petit.iot, this warranty is only valid for the original Customer and is not transferable to any subsequent owner or user of the Product.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

12.1 These Warranty Terms shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws specified in the relevant sales or service agreement between Petit.iot and the Customer. In the absence of such an agreement, these Warranty Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws in force in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, being the jurisdiction in which Petit.iot issued the invoice for the Product.

12.2 Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Warranty Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the jurisdiction determined in accordance with clause 12.1.

13. General Provisions

13.1 If any provision of these Warranty Terms is found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

13.2 Petit.iot reserves the right to amend or update these Warranty Terms from time to time. Any such amendments will not retroactively reduce the warranty rights applicable to Products already purchased before the effective date of the amendment.

13.3 In the event of any inconsistency between these Warranty Terms and any terms contained in Customer purchase orders or other documents, these Warranty Terms shall prevail unless expressly agreed otherwise in a written agreement signed by an authorized representative of Petit.iot.
